PAPUA - Soldiers from the 501st Para Raider Infantry Battalion/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, under the HABEMA Operational Command, visited Sabah Village in Aifat Selatan District, Papua Barat Daya Province, on Monday, October 28, 2024, to conduct Social Communication (Komsos). This initiative is part of their mobile security operations along the Indonesia–Papua New Guinea border, with the goal of fostering security and social harmony.
The Commander of the 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, highlighted the importance of addressing the people’s needs alongside maintaining regional security. During the Komsos session, the soldiers learned about the daily challenges faced by the residents and discussed ways to improve the security conditions in the area.

The soldiers’ presence was met with joy and enthusiasm from the villagers, strengthening the bond between TNI personnel and the community. Through open conversations and a friendly approach, the soldiers showed their dedication to both protection and public welfare.
One of the residents, Rio Mujizau, expressed his gratitude: “Praise God, thank you, Commander 501. God bless.” Such responses reflect the community’s appreciation for the soldiers’ efforts and highlight the trust being built between the military and local residents.

The positive impact of the Komsos session received high praise from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the Commanding General of HABEMA. “The initiative of the 501 Task Forces to engage with the residents reflects TNI’s commitment to fostering inclusive communication with all stakeholders, ” he said. “This plays a vital role in supporting the acceleration of development in the Papua region.”
Such initiatives are critical to building a safe and collaborative environment, where both security and community growth go hand-in-hand. By listening to the people and working together, TNI fosters hope and trust, which are essential for the long-term development of Papua.
